The 4-Step Scientific Method
Every experiment follows how real scientists work:
- Predict: Before you touch the controls, form a hypothesis and predict what will happen.
- Experiment: Run the interactive simulation. Move sliders, flip switches, and watch the physics in action.
- Discover the Lesson: Review what happened and read clear takeaways with an optional audio narration.
- Quiz Time: Answer check questions to reinforce what you learned and earn up to three stars.
Available Experiments
🌱 Primary (P4–P6)
- Ice, Water and Steam: Heat ice cubes and observe the states of matter and microscopic particle motion.
- Sink or Float?: Test different materials (wood, stone, apple, coin, sponge, oil) in a water basin to discover density.
- What Does a Magnet Pick Up?: Drag a bar magnet over common objects to sort magnetic from non-magnetic materials.
🔬 Junior Secondary (JSS 1–3)
- Heating Curve of Water: Heat water from ice to steam and graph temperature against time to see latent heat plateaus.
- Simple Series Circuit: Build an electrical circuit with batteries, resistors and a light bulb to observe current flow.
- Separate Sand and Salt: Complete the four-step physical separation process: dissolve, filter, evaporate and recover pure salt.
⚛️ Senior Secondary (SSS 1–3)
- Ohm's Law: Adjust voltage and resistance to verify V = IR with live current readout and real-time graph plotting.
- The Simple Pendulum: Investigate harmonic oscillation by altering length, mass and gravity to test period calculations.
- Projectile Motion: Launch cannonballs at different angles and velocities to study parabolic trajectories, range, and max height.
In the Classroom & at Home
DaVinciLab is ideal for science classrooms without physical laboratory equipment, giving every pupil and student the chance to safely run experiments, see abstract concepts brought to life, and build genuine scientific curiosity.
