Farm Friends
Spend a season on the farm with Ada the cattle egret. Little ones meet the animals and find out where eggs, milk and honey come from. Older players grow maize and yam step by step, chase pests off the crops, read Nigeria’s rainy and dry seasons, test the soil and plan a crop rotation.

How to play
Choose who is playing, then pick a game. Every round is short, and the results screen shows what you learned and what to practise. Stars are saved on your device only.
- 🌱 Grow a Crop: Put the farm jobs in order and watch the field grow: maize for younger players, yam (setts, heaps, stakes and the barn) for Agric Experts.
- 🐛 Pest Patrol: Tap the caterpillars, grasshoppers, rats and grain birds, but leave the ladybirds, bees, earthworms, frogs and spiders alone. Then learn how farmers control pests.
- 🧺 Farm Finds: Who gives us eggs and honey? What are garri, chocolate and palm oil made from? Which tool does which job?
- 🐐 Animal Farm: Baby animal names, animal homes and products, ruminants, poultry, breeds, animal health and gestation. Play alone or pass the phone.
- 🌦️ Season Planner: Rainy season, dry season, harmattan and the August break, with a rainfall chart for the south and the north.
- 🟫 Soil Lab: Sandy, clay and loamy soils, the soil jar test, erosion, liming and the soil profile.
- 🌽 Crop Families: Cereals, legumes, roots and tubers, vegetables and fruits, where crops grow in Nigeria and how each is planted.
- 🔄 Farm Planner: Crop rotation, intercropping, compost, irrigation, farm records, NPK fertiliser and safe storage.
What players learn
Where food comes from, farm tools, the steps of growing maize and yam, crop pests and the animals that help farmers, pest control (physical, cultural, biological, chemical and integrated pest management), Nigeria’s seasons, soil types and soil conservation, crop groups and propagation, livestock terms and health, and keeping soil fertile.
For teachers and parents
Farm Friends follows Basic Science and Technology in Primary and Agricultural Science in JSS and SSS, including WAEC and NECO topics such as soil, crop propagation, pest control and animal production. Play Animal Farm or Crop Families as a pass-the-phone class game, and use the Soil Lab jar test as a starting point for a real experiment with a clear jar, soil and water.
Facts are simplified for learners, and farming practice varies from place to place. Farm Friends supports UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education).
